How do I keep my healthy eating plan going on Halloween?
Use the 80/20 rule!
The 80/20 rule is the notion that if you do what you need to do for
your health 80% of the time, then 20% of the time you can do what
you want to do. So go ahead and indulge in a little bit of whatever
you are handing out to the ghouls and goblins, just make sure that
80% of what you put in your mouth during the whole day is good
nutritious stuff.
The 80% rule allows for a foundation of health and
a guideline for getting back on track when we want to make choices
that are not consistent with our healthy lifestyle goals. Keep that
foundation of healthy eating going by enjoying your treats in
moderation and keeping the big picture of your healthy lifestyle in
mind.
