Plan For Transitions
The end of summer brings with it a change in weather, a change in
schedule, or the start of an end of the year push for many of us.
Any of these changes can cause us to loose momentum when it comes to
maintaining our healthy lifestyles. Here are a few tips that can
help keep you on track.
1. Plan activities that will keep you moving as the weather becomes
cooler. If you are a warm weather exerciser, start to think of
physical activities that you enjoy that you can do as the weather
becomes colder or the conditions cause you to move indoors.
2. Take the time to put into your calendar the pieces of your
healthy lifestyle that you need to keep in place. For instance,
schedule time to be active, plan healthy meals, or "downtime" with
friends and family.
3. Take advantage of seasonal foods to perk up meals. Fall is a
great time find fresh local fruits and vegetables to add to soups,
stews, and fresh salads.
